National University withstood a late push from University of Santo Tomas to claim a hard-fought 15-25, 25-23, 25-17, 13-25, 15-12 victory in Game 1 of the 2025 Shakey’s Super League Preseason Unity Cup Finals Saturday at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
After dropping the first set, the Lady Bulldogs regained control in the second and third frames, only to be dominated in the fourth by the Tigresses, forcing a decisive fifth set. With UST leading 12-10 late in the decider, NU mounted a 5-0 run to seal the win.
